More than 17 thousand coffee makers are recalled due to burn risks
To date, Kidisle brand coffee makers have caused more than 100 reports of injuries and 27 of them with first and second degree burns.
This week, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission alerted consumers through a statement on its website about the recall of at least 17,000 coffee makers sold in retail chains due to high burn risks.
According to the entity's announcement, the product withdrawn from the market is the Kidisle brand coffee makers, model KC101B, in black, white and gray presentations measuring 28 cm high and 15 cm wide, with which between 170 and 414 ml of hot and iced coffee are prepared.
However, according to reports, the appliance has an obstruction failure, which generates a buildup of hot water or steam that can be released without warning, causing injuries to its users.
So far, 100 incidents have been reported with the use of this device and at least 27 of them resulted in serious injuries, first and second degree burns, which is why the removal of the coffee makers is required immediately.
The coffee makers were sold between June 2024 and April 2026 on various retail store web portals such as Walmart, Amazon and eBay with a price of $49.
Given the serious incidents, the Consumer Product Safety Commission urged users to stop using the coffee makers and instead report it to the manufacturer Kidisle at KidisleKC101Brecall@outlook.com for a refund.
