The average price of the dollar in Mexico today is $17.53 pesos per unit. During the previous session, the Mexican currency managed to advance against the greenback after Banxico kept its reference rate unchanged, a decision that was already expected by the market and that contributed to maintaining the stability of the peso.
According to figures from the Bank of Mexico (Banxico), the official closing of the dollar corresponding to Thursday, June 25, was $17.4842 pesos per unit, a calculation obtained from the average of bank transactions. However, due to the continuous operation of the exchange market, the exchange rate ended the day around $17.52 pesos per dollar.

Banxico maintains the interest rate and oil price
The markets' attention remained focused on the monetary policy decision announced by the Governing Board of the Bank of Mexico. Unanimously, the central bank decided to maintain the reference rate at 6.50%, considering that the current level continues to be adequate to face the economic environment and drive inflation towards its objective.
"The Governing Board considers that it will be appropriate to maintain the reference rate at its current level. It judges that the monetary stance is appropriate to face the challenges of the macroeconomic environment, including those derived from the international context," said the Governing Board of the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).
On the other hand, oil prices recorded a drop of close to 3% and are shaping up to be a week of losses. The decline comes after concerns about possible disruptions to global supply eased as oil tankers resumed transit through the Strait of Hormuz despite a reported attack on a cargo ship near Oman.
A barrel of Brent is trading at $73.06 dollars, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is at $69.70 dollars per barrel.
