American actor Nicolas Cage is preparing for a new professional adventure that does not involve movie screens, but video game controls. And it was recently announced that he will add his talent to the “Call of Duty” universe.
How? According to information from “The Hollywood Reporter”, the interpreter will be part of “Black Ops 7” and “Warzone” as a new playable character.
In addition, the video game developer, Activision, explained in a statement that the arrival of Nicolas Cage comes with new multiplayer events and rewards for users, as well as updates in various game modes that will include new weapons, maps and challenges.
“Nicolas Cage leads the action this summer in a new event pass, joined by the daily Action Summer Login event, new multiplayer and Resurgence Ranked Series events, and the Kowakujō event, all with new rewards including gear items, weapon camos, double XP tokens, and more,” the write-up states.
This news comes in full development of the official film adaptation of “Call of Duty”, produced by Paramount and whose premiere is scheduled for June 30.
Despite the expectation that this collaboration has generated, it is still unknown if the multi-award-winning actor's participation will be transferred to the big screen.
For actor Nicolas Cage, this project comes at a time of high media exposure after the premiere of his film “Spider-Noir,” where Ben Riley gave life, a different and darker version of the spider superhero.
