U.S. vehicle sales increased by 2.4% in 2025
Despite high tariffs on vehicle and parts imports in 2025, the industry had its strongest performance since 2019
According to official data, vehicle sales in the United States increased by 2.4% in 2025, marking the industry's strongest performance since 2019, amid headwinds that could have led to a different outcome.

General Motors
In a press release, the manufacturer mentioned that sales last year reached $2,850,000, and among the best-selling vehicles were the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. General Motors also noted that it led the full-size SUV market for the 51st consecutive year.
Ford
For its part, Ford indicated that sales in 2025 reached $2,147,811, with the F-Series being the best-selling vehicle.
The manufacturer mentioned that “its market share increased 0.6 percentage points year-over-year and 0.9 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, reaching an annual share of 13.2%, driven by Ford’s appeal to a broad customer base.”
Toyota
According to Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of Toyota Motor North America’s Automotive Operations Group, sales increased to $2,147,811, with the Toyota RAV4 being the top-selling vehicle.
Tesla
Meanwhile, Tesla reported sales increased to $1,636,129, with the Tesla Model 1 being the top-selling vehicle.
“In the fourth quarter, we produced more than 434,000 vehicles, delivered more than 418,000 vehicles, and deployed 14.2 GWh of energy storage products, a record for deployments,” he highlighted.
