Christina Applegate was hospitalized amid her fight against multiple sclerosis
The renowned actress from “Dead to Me” was admitted to a Los Angeles medical center in late March; however, the reason is unknown
Actress Christina Applegate was hospitalized in Los Angeles, according to recent reports that raised concerns among her fans.
According to sources close to the actress cited by media outlets such as TMZ and Page Six, Applegate was admitted to the medical center in late March and has remained under observation since then.
Although the specific reasons for her hospitalization has not been made public, her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS) — diagnosed in 2021 — has been a journey filled with physical challenges.
In response to requests for information, her representative, Ame Van Ilden, simply stated: “I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She has had a long history of complicated medical conditions, which she has been refreshingly open about in her book and podcast.”
The news coincides with an unexpected hiatus from her successful podcast, “MeSsy,” which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Although the hiatus was originally attributed to promoting her recent memoir, "You With the Sad Eyes," the actress's prolonged absence has generated concern. In recent interviews, Applegate confessed that the illness has landed her in the hospital more than 30 times in the last three years, admitting that at times the chronic pain keeps her bedridden. At 54, Christina has become a symbol of resilience. Her last public appearance was at the 2024 Emmy Awards, where she received a standing ovation. Despite the difficulties, the actress has reiterated that her greatest motivation remains her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie, for whom she fights every day to stay present.
