Ice Spice is hit by a woman at a McDonald's in Los Angeles
According to TMZ, the artist was attacked while eating at the restaurant and her lawyer stated that they would take legal action
Rapper Ice Spice, known for her participation in Taylor Swift's song "Karma", was assaulted by a woman at a McDonald's in Los Angeles.
In a video obtained by TMZ, a person is shown approaching the table where the artist, whose real name is Isis, is sitting. Gaston, 26, was sitting with a companion. According to the video footage, the woman tries to sit at the table, and the Grammy-nominated rapper appears to tell her to leave. The woman pauses for a moment, but then reaches out and hits Ice Spice, who doesn't hesitate to defend herself. In the ensuing scuffle, a staff member pulls the alleged aggressor away, while the singer walks across tables and booths. The woman is eventually ejected from the premises. A second video, filmed outside, shows Ice Spice destroying a phone that, according to the same source, belonged to someone who was with the aggressor. As they cross the street, the two women confront each other again.
Rapper's lawyer speaks of “unprovoked attack”
Ice Spice's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, stated that the artist was the victim of an attack and that legal action is already being taken.
“The unprovoked attack against my client has been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department, and we will explore all possible legal avenues to hold those accountable for their actions, both criminally and civilly,” Cohen stated.
He also indicated that they are evaluating “the possibility of holding the establishment liable for its lack of adequate security measures.”
According to TMZ, the woman who appears in the video allegedly claimed that she slapped Ice Spice because she was rude to her and called her a “bitch.” So far, representatives for the artist and the Los Angeles Police Department have not confirmed whether a formal complaint has been filed.
