'It hurts not to see them': Zayn Malik explains his hospitalization and suspends multiple appearances
The former One Direction member shared an Instagram story from his hospital bed, where he assured everyone that he is still recovering
Singer Zayn Malik revealed through an Instagram story that he is hospitalized, although he did not mention the name of his illness. In the post, accompanied by a photograph of him lying in a hospital bed, Malik confessed that the recovery process has been longer than expected. "To my fans: Thank you all for your love and support, now and always. It has been a long week and I am still recovering," the 33-year-old artist wrote. In the same message, he added: "It hurts so much not to be able to see you all this week. I wouldn't be where I am today without you and I am so grateful for your understanding." Malik also dedicated a few words to the “incredible hospital staff,” including doctors, nurses, cardiologists, and administrative staff, whom he called “geniuses.” Cancellations and Rescheduling: Due to his health condition, Malik's team, which manages the official Instagram account @inzayn, reported that several of his upcoming appearances were canceled “given the recent update on Zayn's health.”
Among the suspended events are meet-and-greets at well-known record stores such as Looney Tunes in Long Island (New York), Newbury Comics in Boston, Rough Trade in New York City, and Sound Garden in Baltimore.
What about his tour?
Despite these setbacks, Malik is still scheduled to begin his first tour on May 12. The tour, which will mark a milestone in his career by taking him through North America, South America, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, will kick off in Manchester (UK) at the AO Arena, and will include stops in London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and will conclude on November 20 in Miami at the Kaseya Center. In addition, the singer is expected to perform on May 21 on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” although it has not been confirmed whether this engagement will still take place.
