After much anticipation, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the results for both Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for the academic year 2024–2025. Students, parents, and schools across India had been waiting anxiously, and now the wait is finally over. The results are available for download via DigiLocker, CBSE’s official website cbseresults.nic.in, and UMANG app.
CBSE 2025: A Landmark Year for Digital Education
With a record number of students—over 39 lakh—appearing for the CBSE board exams this year, 2025 has marked a pivotal year in the Indian education landscape. The evaluation process involved meticulous scrutiny of answer scripts under digital surveillance, and the board has ensured a smooth and transparent release of results.
The CBSE has further strengthened its digital ecosystem this year by enabling instant access to digital mark sheets and certificates via DigiLocker. This has not only streamlined the result-checking process but has also minimized dependency on physical documentation.
How to Check CBSE 10th and 12th Results 2025
Students can check their results using any of the following methods:
- Visit cbseresults.nic.in and enter roll number, school code, and admit card ID to view the result.
- Use the DigiLocker app or website to access digital mark sheets and certificates.
- Download the UMANG app and find CBSE services under the Education section.
“Students should ensure their DigiLocker accounts are activated with their Aadhaar number or school-issued credentials to access certificates,” said a CBSE official.
Pass Percentage and Performance Overview
This year, the overall pass percentage for Class 10 stood at 93.78%, while Class 12 recorded a pass rate of 91.12%. Girls have once again outshined boys in both classes. In Class 12, girls achieved a pass rate of 94.3% compared to boys’ 88.5%. In Class 10, the trend was similar, with girls achieving 95.2% pass rate.
“We are extremely proud of the performance of our students. Their results reflect the hard work of students and educators despite academic challenges,” said CBSE Chairperson Nidhi Chhibber in a media interaction.
Top Performing Regions and Schools
Thiruvananthapuram emerged as the top-performing region in Class 12, with a whopping 98.54% pass percentage. For Class 10, Bengaluru led the scoreboard with a 97.84% pass rate. Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and private unaided schools continued their stellar track record by achieving above 95% overall success rates.
Students’ Reactions and Emotional Highs
As results went live, social media platforms flooded with celebratory messages, emotional photos, and heartfelt thank-you notes to teachers and parents. Many students expressed both relief and excitement for the future ahead. From Delhi to Coimbatore, the air was charged with joy and accomplishment.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw 98.6% in Science! All the sleepless nights paid off,” said Priyanshi Mehra, a Class 12 student from Lucknow.
Next Steps for Class 12 Graduates
For Class 12 students, the declaration of results kicks off the next crucial phase—college admissions. Most universities and entrance examinations will begin their counseling or admission processes shortly. Students are advised to download their digital mark sheets from DigiLocker as they will be required for verification purposes.
Popular universities like Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and many state-level institutions have already launched admission portals that integrate CBSE result verification systems for seamless processing.
Compartment Exams and Re-evaluation
Students who couldn’t clear all subjects in the first attempt will have an opportunity to appear for compartment exams. The board has announced that the schedule for supplementary exams will be released within the next two weeks. Additionally, the re-evaluation and photocopy application window is now open on the CBSE website.
Technical Issues? CBSE’s Helpline Is Ready
Some students reported minor delays or access issues while logging into DigiLocker or the result portal, owing to high traffic. CBSE has activated dedicated helplines and technical support to assist students facing login or verification problems.

A Word of Encouragement
Regardless of scores, educators and mental health experts are urging students to see these results as just one chapter of a larger journey. Dr. Shweta Nair, a child psychologist, emphasized, “Academic marks are important, but they are not the sole measure of intelligence or success. Every student has unique strengths.”
