Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday announced that students in government schools would be taught in the local language Chhattisgarhi and tribal dialects once a week. On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Baghel said that this step will not only promote local languages ​​and dialects, but will also increase the interest of students towards studies, an official said.
Study material is being prepared in local dialects
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh said that the government is preparing study material in the local dialects of Chhattisgarhi and tribals of Surguja and Bastar region. In another announcement, the Chief Minister said that Sanskrit would be taught in Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Schools (SAGES) and computer education would be made compulsory in these institutions.
Kindergarten scheme started under new education policy
The official said that CM Baghel launched the Balwadi (Kindergarten School) scheme under the new education policy to provide pre-primary education to children in the age group of 05 to 06 years. He said that at least 5,173 kindergartens have been opened across the state in the current academic year and the scheme would be further expanded in a phased manner.
English medium model college will open in all districts
Recently, CM Baghel had said in a circular sent to the Chief Secretary that in the next three years, institutions would be established in all district headquarters as English Medium Model Colleges. These institutions will be named after Swami Atmanand. CM Baghel said that this decision has been taken after seeing the good response received by Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools started by the state government. The Chief Minister said that initially 10 English medium colleges would be opened in major cities of the state from the next academic session starting from June 2023. Later it will be replicated in all district headquarters in a phased manner over the next three years.
