Army in Mexico captures main financial operator of CJNG
The suspect allegedly laundered money for CJNG leaders by purchasing properties and operating companies in the tequila and cattle sectors
The Ministry of National Defense in Mexico announced the capture of Oscar Antonio Alvarez Gonzalez, identified as the main financial operator of the Jalisco Nueva Generacion Cartel, considered the main money launderer for the leader of that group, Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho" and his brother, Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, “El Rodo”.
According to the agency, thanks to investigative work carried out by the National Intelligence Center (CNI), and in compliance with an arrest warrant, members of the National Guard and the Mexican Army in coordination with the Navy, SSPC and CNI arrested Oscar “N” inside the Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City, who was coming from an international flight from Barcelona, ????Spain.
Antonio Alvarez Gonzalez is accused of organized crime and operations with illicit proceeds, in the form of receiving and transferring resources, and is considered the main financial operator of the CJNG, through the purchase of properties and operation of companies in the tequila and cattle sectors.
Given the dispute between factions of the Sinaloa Cartel, the CJNG has become the most powerful criminal group in the country, whose leader, “El Mencho”, became the main target of the governments of Mexico and the United States. United, which offers a reward of $15 million dollars.
Originating in 2011, the CJNG grew stronger during Enrique Pena Nieto's six-year term in a very short time, going from being considered a criminal cell to a drug cartel with national and international trafficking capacity.
Today, it is estimated to have a presence in all states of the country and the United States, where it was designated as a terrorist organization.
