A man was shot dead early Wednesday morning by FBI agents after holding hostages inside a building in the city of Bakersfield, Kern County.
In a statement, the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD) reported that the suspect died in a shooting, which occurred in a building in the center of the city that houses a bank branch and a local school district office.
The standoff ended around 4:20 a.m., approximately 12 hours after BPD first received reports of the incident.
