Woman arrested for forcibly submerging a child underwater in Orlando hotel
A Florida mother was arrested after allegedly submerging a 6-year-old boy underwater in a hotel pool following a play incident with her son
Tiffany Lee Griffith, 36, was arrested afternoon Friday after allegedly assaulting a six-year-old boy in the pool at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred after the The minor allegedly pushed Griffith's son during a water game. According to the police report, the woman placed her hands on the boy's shoulders and submerged him underwater for several seconds, causing him to bleed from his nose. Witnesses stated that three children were involved in the game and that the situation became aggressive before the incident. The boy emerged from the water visibly distressed and told his parents what had happened. Following the incident, Griffith began yelling at the boy's mother before leaving the pool area. Osceola County Sheriff's Office arrested the woman and charged her with aggravated child abuse. She is currently being held without bail in the county jail.
