The Department of Justice releases transcripts of the Ghislaine Maxwell interview
Ghislaine Maxwell told the Department of Justice that she is not aware of any client list of Jeffrey Epstein
The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday released the transcripts and audio files of Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche's interview with Ghislaine Maxwell and provided House lawmakers with thousands of pages of documents related to the Convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein.
“In the interest of transparency, @TheJusticeDept is posting the full transcript and audio of my deposition of Ms. Maxwell. The transcript and audio are linked below,” Todd Blanche stated on X.
Ghislaine Maxwell was a friend and confidant of Jeffrey Epstein for years and was convicted of helping him commit sexual abuse and trafficking of minors for years.
Maxwell was tried in 2021 in federal court in New York and was found guilty by a jury on five federal counts, including sex trafficking of minors, transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and three counts of conspiracy. He is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.
These revelations came as Justice Department officials seek to satisfy lawmakers from both parties who have pushed for greater transparency surrounding Epstein's files.
Maxwell, a longtime Epstein ally, was convicted in 2021 on sex trafficking charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
In July, she met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche for two days to discuss the Epstein case, during which she claimed she “never saw” President Trump in an “inappropriate environment.”
Maxwell told the Justice Department in newly released interview transcripts that she believes Epstein was murdered in prison.
Her comments come as conspiracy theories about Epstein committing suicide in prison while facing federal sex trafficking charges have circulated for years. However,Maxwell doesn’t believe it was a “hit” by wealthy or powerful figures to silence him.
After an investigation, President Trump’s Justice Department and FBI concluded they have no evidence that Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a “client list,” or was murdered.
The Trump administration has faced bipartisan criticism for its handling of the Epstein files, but also friction between Trump and MAGA conspiracy theorists.
