Anne Hathaway comes forward and denies having had a facelift
In a recent interview, the “The Devil Wears Prada” actress did not rule out cosmetic surgery in the future.
At 43 years old, Anne Hathaway decided to clarify the rumors circulating about an alleged face lift. In an interview published in Elle magazine, the actress spoke honestly about the speculation that has grown around her appearance.
“We're in a time where people feel very safe in assuming that what they think is true,” Hathaway said, explaining that the change in her appearance is due to a simple hairstyling trick: two strands of hair braided near the temples and tied back.
The actress confessed that her first intention was not to comment on it. “My preference would be to not say anything and just live in mystery,” he admitted. However, the pressure of speculation led her to show her truth through a video in which her stylist explained the hairstyle.
"Should I have published it or not? Should I have continued doing what makes me happy?" he asked himself. But, he admitted that he felt like the conversation was becoming a distraction and that's why he made the decision to talk about it.
Does not rule out cosmetic surgery
Hathaway also wanted to focus on what these types of rumors imply.
"These are huge medical decisions that people are making. I wanted to show that no, I didn't make a big medical decision. It's just two braids" Anne Hathaway
Despite denying the face lift, the protagonist of “The Devil Wears Prada” made it clear that she does not rule out undergoing a cosmetic procedure in the future. “Maybe one day I'll get a face lift,” he declared.
At another point in the interview, Hathaway was especially vulnerable when talking about her past. “One of the things about my younger self is that she was very afraid, and I think that fear made me hard on myself,” she mentioned.
She added, "I shudder to think that perhaps I was unintentionally harsh on other people while being harsh on myself. In fact, it makes me nauseous just thinking about it."
In this way, the actress wanted to put an end to the rumors that circulate on social networks about her appearance and which have grown since the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada” was released.
