Anne Hathaway revealed if her pregnancy was planned: “We were very surprised”
The Oscar winner confessed that her third baby was fully planned, although she admits that she and her husband were in "shock" when she achieved it.
Actress Anne Hathaway finally cleared up the doubts surrounding her pregnancy. During her appearance this Monday on the television show “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the 43-year-old star opened up about the process behind her third pregnancy with her husband, producer Adam Shulman.
With a fresh and humorous tone, Hathaway clarified that, far from being an oversight or an unforeseen miracle, the baby was fully sought, although the result took them by surprise.
“I mean, we knew what we were doing,” the Oscar winner joked with a laugh at the host. "But we were absolutely shocked that it worked. We were so shocked that things turned out this way that we're already calling this baby our 'buzzer-beater,'" he added.
Hathaway, who looked radiant on set in an elegant ivory silk GapStudio dress designed by Zac Posen, has been one of Hollywood's most honest voices when it comes to infertility.
In her previous pregnancies—with her sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6—the actress documented the difficulties she faced in conceiving, sending a message of solidarity to all women who go through the “hell of conception.” That is why this third pregnancy at the age of 43 has generated so much commotion and admiration among her followers.
The news of the pregnancy was originally announced on June 19 through an emotional video on the actress's Instagram account, set to the Barbara Lewis classic, “Baby I'm Yours,” where Hathaway showed off her baby bump under a white outfit.
With a packed professional schedule that includes the immediate release of her new film “The Odyssey” and the long-awaited film “Verity” at the end of the year, Hathaway seems to be perfectly balancing her professional success with the arrival of a new member to her family.
