Belinda denounces death threats and asks to stop hatred after the controversy with Kenya Os
After Belinda offered a statement about her new song with Danna, fans of Kenya Os started with criticism
The singer Belinda broke the silence through her broadcast channel on Instagram to reveal the difficult moment she is going through, after her recent statements about a collaboration with Danna sparked an intense controversy on social networks.
The artist confessed that she has received death threats and thousands of aggressive messages, a situation that led her to delete one of her publications for mental health.
"Yesterday I deleted a comment because I started to receive a lot of hate, a lot of hate, in fact, death threats; I am not used to receiving death threats," Belinda said in the message released this Thursday.
The “Heterocromía” performer assured that she never imagined that the conversation would escalate to that level and took the opportunity to ask her followers not to respond to hate with more attacks.
"I want to ask you to receive positive comments and when we receive negative comments, do not respond with hatred or hate, because we are in a world where there is too much hate in general" Belinda
The origin of the controversy
The controversy broke out after an interview with Vogue magazine was published, where Belinda spoke about the launch of a duet with Danna Paola and highlighted the importance of this artistic union.
"I'm very excited because a duet is going to come out that I'm very excited about, with Danna. I think that in Mexico two pop stars have never gotten together to make music, sometimes the egos are far above the talent or the projects. In this case, we managed to remove the egos of artists and simply make a song for the love of art, for the love of music," she declared on that occasion.
Her words were interpreted by some users as a hint towards Kenia Os, with whom Belinda previously released the song “Jackpot”, which generated a fierce discussion between the fandoms of both artists. The singer, however, insisted that she never sought to fuel confrontations and asked to prioritize positive messages.
"When I started receiving death threats, for mental health reasons I deleted my comment. Not because I have anything against anyone, in fact I am the most loving and affectionate person in the world," he clarified.
Call for respect between women
Belinda also took advantage of her message to reiterate the respect she feels for her colleagues and specify the true meaning of her statements about Danna Paola, with whom she shared a scene in the telenovela “Cómplices to the rescue” during her childhood.
“Once again I want to clarify that, when I was referring to the fact that there had never been a collaboration, it was specifically between Danna and I because we grew up together in soap operas when we were children and we have had a similar career,” she explained.
The singer asked to put an end to the attacks she has received in recent days and called to build a more respectful community: “I have received thousands of aggressive messages, that is why it is very important for me to stop these insults because I don't like it, I don't handle myself like that.”
Finally, he sent a direct message to his followers: “I am a person of peace, love and I want my fans to also receive the same and that we behave in an empathetic, loving way and with a lot of respect towards our colleagues,” he stated.
