“Eat like a girl”: Benny Blanco on Selena Gomez's eating habits
During the recording of Gwyneth Paltrow's podcast, the music producer confessed his wife's love for fast food and her total rejection of vegetables
Behind the glamour, the red carpets and the business success of Selena Gomez lies an eating habit completely far from Hollywood standards. Her husband, music producer Benny Blanco, revealed without filters that the singer has an absolute fixation on junk food, jokingly stating that his partner "has the diet of a five-year-old girl."
The statements occurred during a live recording of Gwyneth Paltrow's podcast for her Goop brand, held in West Hollywood.
Blanco, 38, told the audience the shock he had that same morning when he entered the kitchen at 6:45 am and found Gomez having hamburgers, tacos and potatoes from a famous fast food chain for breakfast.
The anecdote provoked the immediate horror of Paltrow, a fervent defender of healthy living, who exclaimed: “This is NOT approved by Goop!” However, Blanco continued detailing the 33-year-old artist's culinary skills, pointing out that she hates fruits and vegetables.
The producer explained that when they order healthy salads, Selena carefully removes everything that is on top of the plate and leaves the lettuce and vegetables exclusively to him.
This taste for ultra-processed foods is not new for fans of Gomez, who in the past has defended her right to eat without restrictions in the face of criticism about her physique. However, this eating pattern has also brought her severe health bills, including a hospitalization for malnutrition in 2011, complications that were added to her subsequent lupus diagnosis and a kidney transplant in 2017.
Although the actress currently has exercise routines and tries to take care of herself, her love for hamburgers remains intact, according to her husband.
