The renowned journalist and entertainment host, Juan Jose 'Pepillo' Origel, 78, was involved in a worrying incident last Thursday, December 4, 2025. The veteran broadcaster suffered a nasty fall in his own home, resulting in a facial injury that required urgent medical attention.

The accident, classified as a domestic mishap, occurred off-camera. According to details later revealed by his friend and colleague Martha Figueroa, Origel tripped over a table leg in his house, causing a hard fall. “His feet got caught… he took a tumble at home,” Figueroa explained.

Urgent medical attention

The impact of the fall was significant. Origel himself explained through his social media, where he announced the incident with a graphic photograph, that the open wound on his eyebrow was caused by the arm of his own glasses when he fell, resulting in considerable bleeding. "You wouldn't believe the fall I took last Thursday! I cut my eyebrow open with my glasses!!!" wrote the host of the program 'Con Permiso'. After the incident, he received immediate assistance, and the wound required several stitches to close. The main concern, given the proximity of the injury to his eye, was possible eye damage. Fortunately, Origel confirmed – in repeated statements – that his eyeball was not affected, thus avoiding a serious complication. “Thank God nothing happened to my eye, and I'm already much better, just a little swollen and bruised,” the journalist assured. He reports that the wound area is slightly swollen and bruised, normal effects after this type of trauma, but insists that his health is good and progressing favorably.
