Laura Pausini revealed the emotional reaction Bad Bunny had after hearing her version of “Turista,” one of the highlights of the Puerto Rican artist's latest album.

During her participation in one of Billboard's Latin Music Week events, the Italian singer said that Bad Bunny wrote to her afterward that he published his version of “Turista.”

“Benito wrote me in a 'DM' on Instagram, saying that he would never have imagined that one day I would sing one of his songs,” Pausini recalled.

Immediately, the singer expressed her gratitude to Bad Bunny for composing such a moving song.

“I thanked him so much for having written it because there is a personal motivation for why I like it, in addition to the fact that it gives me chills when I hear his version and mine too,” she indicated.

The Italian narrated that the idea of ??singing “Turista” by Bad Bunny came to her while “I was driving here in Miami” and the song came on, which she considers appropriate for her style.

In April, Laura Pausini surprised her followers with a reinterpretation of “Turista” in a piano ballad format, imbued with her style and sensitivity, which made her feel an immediate connection with the song.

“As Woody once said Guthrie: 'A good song can only do good.' I heard #Turista and instantly fell in love... so I sang it. And here it is,” the singer wrote on her Instagram account at the time.

At the time, the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist didn't hesitate to react to one of Pausini's social media posts about her version of “Turista.” “Wow,” Bad Bunny wrote to express his amazement.

Pausini's version of “Turista” will be featured on Yo canto 2, an album by the Italian singer featuring new versions of songs by artists from Spain and Latin America.

Pausini also announced a tour to accompany the album, which will begin next March in Spain and run until 2027.
