Shakira and FIFA allocate $500,000 to children affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela
The sum will go to organizations that help children whose education has been interrupted by the recent tragic earthquakes in the Latin American country.
Singer Shakira has reaffirmed her commitment to children's education by announcing that the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund will donate $500,000 in support of children in Venezuela who were affected by the two earthquakes that affected the country.
This news was confirmed in the Colombian's own voice through a video broadcast through her official social networks.
“I am proud to share that the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund will allocate $500,000 to support organizations in Venezuela that help children whose education has been interrupted by this terrible tragedy,” he detailed from his Instagram account.
Within the audiovisual, the “Dai Dai” interpreter thanked those who have already joined this initiative, including the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney.
However, he also took the time to extend an invitation to those world leaders who have not yet taken action to help.
This is how, without hesitation, Shakira addressed the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro; to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, urging them to commit to “unlocking the resources necessary to support children's education during Venezuela's recovery.”
To conclude her message, the Grammy-winning star also invited her followers to join this campaign that aims to help those who need it most at this time: “If you believe that all children deserve the opportunity to dream, join this effort,” she stated.
