Taylor Swift breaks records on audio platforms with her song “I Knew It, I Knew You”
The singer broke records on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music in less than 24 hours after the release of her single for “Toy Stoy 5”
Taylor Swift once again showed why she dominates the music industry. With the release of her new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You”, written especially for the soundtrack of the highly anticipated Disney Pixar animated film, “Toy Story 5”, the American singer-songwriter has broken several records on major audio platforms on its first day available.
The single marked Swift's long-awaited return to her musical roots with an acoustic country sound accompanied by banjo and harmonica, under production by Jack Antonoff. Nostalgia not only conquered the hearts of its followers, but immediately translated into unprecedented numbers within the streaming environment.
The Spotify platform announced through its official channels that the song became the most played country song by a female artist in a single day in the entire history of the platform.
For its part, Apple Music confirmed that the piece broke the platform's historical record for the debut of a soundtrack single in its first 24 hours, also positioning itself as the most successful country release so far in 2026.
Amazon Music completed the hat trick of milestones by reporting that the song recorded the biggest first-day global debut for any track released this year.
Through her social networks, the Grammy winner shared that she wrote the song inspired by the character of the cowgirl Jessie immediately after attending an early screening of the film.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and a coming home at the same time,” Swift said.
“Toy Story 5” will hit movie theaters around the world on June 19.
