Bihar Governor cum Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has taken serious note of the murder of BN College student Harsh Raj on the premises of Patna Law College and has directed strict action against the culprits. The Governor convened a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Patna DM, and Patna SSP at Raj Bhavan to discuss the matter and devise an action plan to prevent such incidents in the future.

Order for Strict Action

The Governor has instructed authorities to identify those responsible for causing chaos in the hostel and take stringent measures against them. He emphasized the need for vigilant monitoring of disruptive elements and urged prompt reporting to the police upon receiving any relevant information. Additionally, the administration, police, and university officials have been directed to collaborate on an effective action plan to ensure the safety of students and maintain order in hostels.

Student Performance

The incident occurred as student Harsh Raj was leaving after taking an exam, sparking outrage across Bihar. On Tuesday, students from various colleges staged protests in Patna, demanding justice for the victim. Amidst the turmoil, the police apprehended the primary suspect, Chandan Yadav. Harsh Raj was reportedly associated with NDA candidate Shambhavi Chaudhary, daughter of Minister Ashok Chaudhary, and was also purportedly planning to contest in student union elections.
