Elections 2023: BJP Central Election Committee meeting, PM Modi-Amit Shah may also attend
Ahead of the Central Election Committee meeting, top BJP leaders met JP Nadda at his residence to discuss plans for the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
The BJP Central Election Committee meeting is to be held at the party headquarters on Sunday. During this period, there will be discussion regarding the upcoming assembly elections including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The results of previous meetings will be discussed in the meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and several other Union ministers are part of the apex committee that takes the final decision on party candidates. BJP leaders including JP Nadda, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Vasundhara Raje, Bhupendra Yadav and Kailash Chaudhary have reached the party headquarters in Delhi for the meeting.
Important meeting held at JP Nadda's residence
Earlier, top BJP leaders met JP Nadda at his residence to discuss plans for the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Congress is currently in power in both the states. According to sources, in the meeting, the leaders of BJP's core group engaged in preparing the party's election strategy discussed many issues. During this, the names of those candidates were also discussed, who can be fielded against the Congress candidates in the Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh assembly elections.
Brainstorming on Rajasthan
The meeting at Nadda's residence came ahead of the BJP's Central Election Committee meeting, which is scheduled to deliberate on the draft list of party candidates for the elections in both the states. The meeting was attended by Union Minister and BJP's election in-charge for Rajasthan Pralhad Joshi, Rajasthan election co-in-charge Kuldeep Bishnoi and party's state unit chief CP Joshi. Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Gajendra Shekhawat and BJP national general secretary and Rajasthan in-charge Arun Singh were also present in the meeting.
They gathered for Chhattisgarh elections
Union Minister and party's state election in-charge Mansukh Mandaviya, state unit president Arun Sao, state organization secretary Nitin Naveen and leader of opposition in the state assembly Narayan Chandel were present at the BJP's core group meeting for Chhattisgarh elections. Home Minister Amit Shah also attended both the meetings.
