Mallya has been sentenced to four months in jail
The Supreme Court bench, while accepting the appeal of advocate EC Aggarwal, said that he should get Vijay Mallya's email id written in the court registry and also provide his address. The next hearing in this case will be held in January 2023. In early 2022, Vijay Mallya was sentenced to nearly four months in jail for contempt of court order by the Supreme Court. At that time the court had also directed the government to ensure that Vijay Mallya makes his presence felt in India. Despite the court order, Vijay Mallya did not bother to come to India.
