Campaigning has reached its peak for the assembly elections to be held in Karnataka on May 10. All the parties have given their full strength. In this episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a mega roadshow for the Karnataka elections today. PM Modi's roadshow in Bengaluru will start at 10 am and will go on till 1.30 pm. His road show will pass through 17 assembly constituencies. More than 10 lakh people are expected to participate in it.

Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi will also enter the election battle of Karnataka today. She will address an election rally in Hubli district. Sonia will campaign for the Congress for the first time in the Karnataka assembly elections. Sonia will be seen in an election campaign after a long time. Karnataka will go to polls in a single phase on May 10 for the 224-member assembly and the results will be declared on May 13. According to the Election Commission, a total of 5,21,73,579 voters will exercise their franchise in this election.

At the same time, the BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the 'corruption rate card' issued by the Congress in the Karnataka assembly elections. The BJP on Friday said the Congress is ready with a plan to loot Karnataka if voted to power and has a rate card for 'transfers, postings and commissions'. BJP's Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh said that Congress has released its rate list. There is a complete plan to loot on coming to power but it will remain a dream for the party. The Congress on Friday released a 'corruption rate card', showing various 'scams' of the ruling BJP government in the state. This also includes the '40 per cent commission' charged by state contractors. Releasing the corruption rate card in both English and Kannada, Karnataka Congress Party leaders alleged that the BJP government in the state has looted Rs 1,50,000 crore in the last four years. The cost of the post of CM is Rs 2,500 crore while that of a minister is Rs 500 crore, the Congress said in its 'corruption rate card'.

Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily said on Friday that there is no question of banning Bajrang Dal if it works according to the rules and conducts itself properly. The Congress had proposed a ban on the Bajrang Dal in its manifesto for the Karnataka assembly elections. The BJP is targeting the Congress on this proposal.

Speaking to a news agency, Moily said the reference should be seen as Congress issuing some kind of notice and warning to Bajrang Dal and not as the party contesting the May 10 assembly elections in Karnataka. I am going to ban it when I come to power. The former chief minister indicated that the Congress would adopt the view of the then Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel on the issue. He said the national ban was lifted after Patel took an affidavit from the RSS that he was not involved in "illegal activities".
