The police has made a big disclosure regarding the jailed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist officer Pasha. He said Pasha had earlier received training in bomb-making in Bangladesh and then trained the accused in the Mangaluru blast case while in jail in Karnataka.

During investigation it was also found that banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) had earlier transferred Rs five lakh to Pasha's bank account. He said that based on the information provided by Pasha, the police have prepared a "comprehensive report". The report has been shared with the state Director General of Police, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), NIA and Intelligence Bureau for further investigation.

Police said Pasha is currently lodged in Nagpur Central Jail after he was shifted to the city from a jail in neighboring Karnataka earlier this month in connection with the investigation into the threat call allegedly made by gangster Jayesh Pujari to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. was brought During the ongoing investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the police, it was revealed that Pasha was the mastermind of the Mangaluru bomb blast case, the police officer said. "During the investigation, Pasha's involvement in training Mangaluru blast case accused Mohammed Shariq in making cooker bombs has come to the fore," he said.

Last year on November 19, there was a blast in an autorickshaw in Mangaluru. The accused in the case, Shariq, a resident of Shivamogga in Karnataka, was in the autorickshaw with a pressure cooker fitted with detonators, wires and batteries when the autorickshaw exploded. Police had said that the blast was not accidental but an act of terrorism with the intention of causing serious damage.

Pasha was earlier convicted in a 2012 case of recruiting terrorists for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Jammu and Kashmir. He was also allegedly involved in the December 2005 terror attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore. Pasha, lodged in the Hindalga Jail in Belagavi, Karnataka in the Bangalore blast case, was brought to Nagpur on July 14 in connection with the Nitin Gadkari threat call case. Presently he is lodged in jail here.

Pasha had returned to India several years ago after receiving training in bomb-making in Dhaka, the police officer said. He was earlier involved in a blast in Bangalore. Despite this, his role in the Mangaluru blasts was overlooked during the earlier investigation. It has been learned that Pasha and Jayesh Pujari alias Kantha alias Shaheer were propagating Islamic fundamentalism while incarcerated in Hindalga Jail, Belagavi. The accused were influencing the inmates of the jail. The police officer said Pasha had trained Shariq in making cooker bombs, which were used in the Mangaluru blast case.
