Monkeypox: Amidst the rapidly increasing cases of monkeypox in many countries of the world, the risk of infection of this virus has started increasing in India too. On Monday, another patient of monkeypox was found in the national capital Delhi. It is being told that the infection has been confirmed in a 35-year-old Nigerian youth. He currently resides in Delhi. Let us tell you that this is the second case of monkeypox in Delhi.

Official sources said that the infection has been confirmed in a 35-year-old Nigerian man. However, he has no history of traveling abroad in the recent past. With this, the number of patients infected with monkeypox in India has increased to 6.

The news agency PTI language report quoted sources as saying that the Nigerian man found infected with monkeypox has been admitted to the government LNJP hospital, which is the nodal hospital for the treatment of this infection in the national capital.

If sources are to be believed, the Nigerian man is battling fever for the last 5 days and there are also rashes on his body. According to sources, the samples of the Nigerian man were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NVI) in Pune and the test report on Monday evening confirmed the infection. It was told that two more suspected patients of African origin have also been admitted to LNJP Hospital.

Here, the Kerala government on Monday confirmed that the 22-year-old man who died on July 30 was infected with monkeypox. In this way, this is the first death due to monkeypox in the country. State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the infection was found in the samples sent to NIV, Pune and it was the West African variant. He said that this person, who reached the state on 22 July, was earlier found infected with monkeypox in UAE on 19 July. The Chief Minister said that a detailed investigation will be done by a high level State Medical Board.
