Ranchi: The new building of Ranchi's Sadar Hospital is ready at a cost of about Rs 354 crore. It has been built on the lines of Super Specialty Hospital in Chennai. State-of-the-art machines have been installed here. But, there is no skilled manpower and technical support to run them. Due to this the handover of the building could not be taken. At the same time, the 12th deadline given by the High Court also failed.
Required Skilled Manpower to Run the Hospital: Under the IPHH norms, skilled manpower is required to operate and service the equipments installed in the Super Specialty Hospitals. For this, the Health Department first tried to take cooperation from Deoghar AIIMS. When things did not work out, the department started trying to operate from its level. Two agencies have proposed to the Health Department.
Vijeta Projects and Infrastructure Limited has proposed an operational package of Rs.10 crore 73 lakh 45 thousand 895 crore under annual maintenance contract and another company, ABS Fujitsu General Private Limited of Japan, for operation and routine maintenance work of Rs.7 crore 11 lakh per annum. . Now the health department is confused as to how to arrange such a huge amount annually. Due to this also the process of taking the building handover is not being completed.
What happened so far:
In the year 2007, the foundation stone for the construction work of the new building of Sadar Hospital was laid. The construction of a 500-bed super specialty hospital with a cost of Rs 131.14 crore was to be completed in three years. But, even after 15 years, the work hangs in the balance. The construction of the new building was given to a company named National Building Construction Corporation Limited. He entrusted the construction to a company named Vijeta Projects and Infrastructure Limited. At the same time, in June 2022, the National Building Construction Corporation Limited wrote a letter to the Jharkhand State Building Construction, urging it to take the building handover.
The 12th deadline of the High Court to start Ranchi Sadar Hospital also failed, till now the department has not taken it under its control.

Handover process underway
The process of taking the handover of the building of Sadar Hospital is going on. Efforts are being made at the departmental level, the date has not been fixed. The team will see how much of the construction work has been completed and how it can be started. If NBCC wants to give it, the transfer process will be completed soon.
