Terrorist Attacks in Jammu and Kashmir: Ongoing Operations in Kathua and Doda
Terrorist attacks continue in Jammu and Kashmir with incidents in Kathua and Doda districts. Security forces are actively responding to the threats.
After Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists have once again carried out attacks at two locations. Three terrorist incidents have been reported within 48 hours. On Tuesday, terrorists opened fire in Kathua district of Jammu division, in response to which the army killed one terrorist. Additionally, terrorists attacked the army camp in the Chhatrakala area of Doda district. Security forces have surrounded the terrorists in Kathua. ADGP Jammu has confirmed the killing of one terrorist, and the operation is ongoing. Earlier on Sunday, terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying devotees from Shiv Khodi temple to Katra, resulting in 9 deaths and 41 injuries.
Encounter with Terrorists Continues in Doda
An encounter has started between security forces and terrorists after a terrorist attack in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night. Additional Director General of Police Anand Jain reported that terrorists opened fire on a joint post of 4 National Rifles and police in the Chatargala area of the district. Security personnel retaliated, leading to the ongoing encounter.
Terrorists Opened Fire in Kathua, One Terrorist Killed
Before the incident in Doda, terrorists attacked a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Tuesday evening. Security forces killed a suspected Pakistani terrorist in an encounter. A massive operation is underway against the remaining hidden terrorists, believed to have infiltrated from across the border. Three civilians were injured in the firing by terrorists in Hiranagar and have been admitted to Hiranagar Hospital for treatment.
A police spokesperson said that terrorists attacked Saida Sukhal village near Kuta Mode in Hiranagar sector. During a search operation, one terrorist was killed. An AK rifle and a bag were recovered from the killed terrorist. The identity of the killed terrorist and his group is being ascertained.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that he is in constant touch with top officials of the district administration and police. This district is part of his Udhampur parliamentary constituency. The minister has also contacted the local villager whose house was attacked by terrorists. Officials noted that police and other security forces reached the village after suspicious activity by three persons was reported around 7:45 pm. Gunshots were heard shortly after.
Officials confirmed one terrorist was killed in the encounter, and a search operation is underway to locate other terrorists hiding in the village. Senior police officers, including Additional Director General of Police, Jammu, Anand Jain, are on the scene to monitor the operation.
9 Devotees Killed in Reasi Terror Attack
This incident in Jammu region follows a recent attack where terrorists opened fire on a 53-seater bus carrying devotees from Shiv Khori temple to Katra near Teryath village in Poni area of Reasi district on Sunday. The bus fell into a ditch after the attack, killing nine people and injuring 41 others.
The sketch of the terrorists who targeted the bus of devotees in Reasi has been released. The police have also announced a reward for information. The search for the terrorists responsible for the attack has intensified, with the army conducting search operations in various areas including forests. Reasi police have released sketches of the terrorists involved, based on eyewitness descriptions. A reward of Rs 20 lakh has been announced for information leading to their capture. The police have also provided phone numbers for the public to share any relevant information.
