Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Train News: India's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) RapidX trains will run on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. The curiosity of people to know more about it is increasing. Recently, an update regarding the train has come out that rapid train services will be available for the passengers at an interval of 5-10 minutes. The construction work on the 17 km priority portion of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot is almost complete. Its operation is expected to start in May.
State-of-the-art facilities of RapidX train
The RapidX train will have 6 air-conditioned coaches. It will have the capacity to carry 450 passengers simultaneously. The train will initially have six coaches. Along with this, it is also being told that its nine stops can be made. Out of the six coaches of this train, one will be a luxury coach and the other will be reserved for women passengers.
RapidX trains will offer a dedicated attendant in premium coaches to help passengers with onboard amenities and ensure their safe travel. The premium coaches will come with several modern amenities such as cushioned reclining seats, charging ports for mobile phones and laptops, luggage racks and even magazine holders.
When will it start?
Officials have expressed hope that the entire corridor will be opened to the public in 2025. But the priority section of 17 kilometers from Sahibabad to Duhai will be made operational soon.

Passengers will be able to complete their journey in just 12 minutes after the opening of the priority section. However, after the completion of the entire corridor, the travel time will come down from three hours to just 50 minutes.
Design and Features
It is being given a state-of-the-art design. The exterior design of the station is given the theme of peacock feathers. The specialty of this train is its speed. Instead of entering and exiting on the main carriageway, a dedicated passage will be made for passengers on both sides of the road. Inside the station, a glass lift has been constructed.
