David Bisbal will be a judge in Telemundo's “Operación Triunfo”
The singer and composer rose to fame after participating in “Operación Triunfo” in Spain, 25 years ago.
“Operación Triunfo” United States edition is a fact and Telemundo announced that David Bisbal will join the reality show dedicated to singing.
The renowned Spanish artist who rose to fame 25 years ago after participating in the first edition of “Operación Triunfo” in his native Spain, now returns to the format that launched him to stardom, this time as a member of the jury in the American version of the reality show.
The Telemundo network announced the star signing this Thursday, generating great expectations among the program's followers.
“Returning to the Operación Triunfo universe after so many years has a very special meaning for me, because it was the place where my career began and changed my life forever,” Bisbal said in a statement sent by Telemundo.
“It is an honor to be part of this moment, and it fills me with emotion to be able to accompany, motivate and witness the musical growth of a new generation of talents with big dreams,” he mentioned.
Platform to promote talents
The singer, composer and winner of multiple awards achieved fame in 2001 thanks to his participation in the first edition of “Operación Triunfo” in Spain, a platform that promoted a successful musical career with millions of records sold around the world.
Over more than two decades, the Almería-born artist has conquered the public with hits such as “Ave María”, “Bulería” and “Dígale”, establishing himself, as the network highlighted, “as one of the most influential voices in Spanish music.”
The new “Operación Triunfo” will premiere in July, because, unlike previous seasons and due to the coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, there will not be a new reality show in the network's prime time until that date.
The successful musical format will be hosted by Mexican Natalia Téllez and will present a group of participants who will live together in a state-of-the-art academy. There they will receive intensive training and prepare for live galas.
Each week they will face the challenge of advancing in the competition, while the judges, now including David Bisbal, and the audience will decide who continues in the quest to launch their musical career.
