Gloria Estefan defends Emilio against accusations linked to Sean Diddy Combs Combs
The singer strongly denied the accusations that would have linked her husband to a federal lawsuit against Sean Diddy Combs
Singer Gloria Estefan has come out in full force to defend her husband Emilio Estefan after his name was used in a federal lawsuit in the Sean “Diddy” Combs case. What did she say? Here we tell you.
According to a report from Us Weekly, the controversy began in April of this year, when Manzaro Joseph initiated legal proceedings against 'Diddy' for an alleged sexual assault that allegedly took place in 2015, during a party on Star Island, an island in Miami Beach, Florida, where several celebrities own properties.
Furthermore, Joseph claimed that he was transported through a tunnel from the Estefans' house to the American rapper's, causing Emilio Estefan's name to even appear as one of the accused.
In response, the "Mi Tierra" singer wrote a letter addressed to the judge handling the case to dismiss the accusations that have put her name and that of her husband under the eye of the hurricane.
The document, presented to the authorities on July 27, begins by mentioning the honorable reputation that Gloria Estefan has, as well as the various houses and commercial properties that she owns in Miami Beach as a result of her success in the musical field.
And although she confirmed that her husband and she own two adjoining houses on Star Island, Miami Beach, between the years 1993 and 2021, they owned another house in the same area, but inhabited by other relatives and their minor son.
“I categorically deny each and every one of the accusations against me and my husband (…) No such thing happened. Particularly considering who the occupants (of the house) were, I know that no parties were held during that period," he stated in the letter.
He further explained that: "If unknown persons had appeared after midnight in early April 2015, they would undoubtedly have reported it to me or to Emilio."
Regarding Manzaro Joseph's claim that he was taken to the back entrance of his property, he indicated that logistics make it unlikely: "To not only pass through the main door, which has security, but then they must be admitted by the occupant of the home through two gates," he added.
The multi-award-winning artist reiterated that her direct dealings with Sean "Diddy" Combs were limited to professional matters, since in 2021 they ended up selling one of their properties to him: "I was never at (Diddy's) house and he was never at our residence or the family home, other than after he purchased the family home in 2021."
"At no time was there no 'tunnel' between the two homes, at least not while we owned it (the home sold to Diddy), and based on my many years of experience with the City of Miami Beach, I believe this could have easily been verified through City of Miami Beach public records," he concluded.
