UP CM Reviews Public Grievances and Development Projects with Focus on Efficient Governance
In a comprehensive review meeting held via video conferencing, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed government officials to adopt a mission-mode approach for resolving revenue disputes and ensuring effective governance. Highlighting citizen feedback from platforms like the CM Helpline and IGRS, the Chief Minister released performance reports and instructed departments to enhance their efficiency in addressing public grievances.
Streamlining Revenue Dispute Resolution
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to expedite the resolution of revenue-related disputes, particularly cases involving measurement, land use changes, and inheritance. He called for regular reviews at the tehsil and district levels, instructing divisional commissioners and district magistrates to fix accountability and take strict action against personnel providing inaccurate reports.
“Pending measurement cases often escalate into conflicts, even leading to violence,” CM Adityanath remarked. “Delays will no longer be tolerated, and officers found responsible will face strict consequences.” He further urged officials to focus on issues affecting the common man, such as transfers and land disputes, ensuring that they are resolved within stipulated timelines.
Promoting Dialogue with Farmers and Traders
Recognizing the importance of community engagement, the Chief Minister directed urban bodies to address traffic-related challenges through local solutions. He stressed the importance of open dialogue with farmers, traders, street vendors, and labour organizations to resolve their concerns effectively. “A proactive approach to problem-solving will foster trust and cooperation,” he added.
Maha Kumbh Preparations: A Focus on Sustainability
With the grand Prayagraj Maha Kumbh scheduled from 13 January to 26 February 2024, CM Adityanath laid out a roadmap for ensuring a seamless and sustainable event. He announced plans to make the Maha Kumbh free from single-use plastic and directed officials to spread awareness at district, tehsil, and police station levels.
“We are expecting 40-45 crore devotees and tourists to visit Prayagraj, along with Ayodhya, Vindhyadham, Kashi, and Mathura. Preparations must be meticulous to accommodate this influx,” he stated. The Chief Minister also urged devotees to avoid using unsafe means of transportation like tractor-trolleys for their pilgrimage, ensuring safety and convenience for all visitors.
Winter Relief: Blankets and Night Shelters
With winter setting in, the Chief Minister directed district administrations to ensure the proper distribution of blankets and the efficient management of night shelters. He stressed that no individual in the state should be left hungry or forced to sleep on the roadside.
“Police patrolling teams must transport anyone found on the streets to nearby shelters. Additionally, residents of these shelters should be thoroughly verified to maintain security and order,” he added. Funds have already been allocated to districts for these initiatives, and CM Adityanath urged swift action to protect vulnerable populations.
Strict Monitoring of Development Projects
Highlighting the importance of accountability in governance, CM Adityanath mandated regular inspections of all development projects costing over ?5 crore. He instructed district magistrates to personally oversee these projects and appoint nodal officers for effective monitoring.
“Stubble management is another key priority,” he noted. “Every district must take responsibility, with clear strategies and regular assessments to mitigate environmental impacts.”
Ensuring Public-Focused Governance
Public hearings were a significant focus of the Chief Minister’s directives. He urged officers to prioritize citizen engagement and ensure that their schedules include ample time for addressing public grievances. “Effective governance starts with listening to the people. Every department must be committed to this principle,” he asserted.
