67% of Mexicans approve of the management of the country's president, Claudia Sheinbaum, while their disapproval stands at 33% at the end of July, as revealed this Monday by the monthly survey published by the newspaper El Financiero.
According to the survey, more than half of those surveyed (55%) positively rated the president's participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, when Sheinbaum traveled to New Jersey to be at the match between Spain and Argentina along with her counterparts from the United States and Canada.
However, his approval and disapproval ratings did not change significantly between June and July.
Since January, the approval percentage has remained stable, with a maximum of 72% obtained in February, after the death of the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), El Mencho, in an operation by the Mexican Army.
So far this year, the lowest approval figure was 67% last month, just one point lower than Sheinbaum's ratings in April and June.
Regarding the performance of their Administration, only 15% of those surveyed approve of the management against organized crime, while 69% rate it as “bad or very bad.”
Other matters in which Mexicans do not approve of the federal government are the fight against corruption or public security, where only 20% and 21% of citizens approve, respectively.
On the other hand, the management of social support is rated as good or very good by 63% of those surveyed (eight points less than in May, its highest percentage), while the management of the economy is approved by 48%, although 39% have an unfavorable opinion in this regard.
For 52%, the main problem facing Mexico continues to be public insecurity, which represents a drop of 10 percentage points compared to the month of June.
Improves perception of Sheinbaum and Trump relationship
However, 51% of Mexicans approve of the federal government's role in the review of the trade agreement with the United States and Canada (T-MEC), the same figure as the previous month, although negative opinions rose slightly, going from 37% to 40% between June and July.
The survey carried out by El Financiero from July 13 to 17 and from July 22 to 25 has a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 3.5%. EFE
