The ups and downs continue at the Australian Open. Women's singles top seed Iga Swiatek is also out of the tournament following the exits of top seeds Rafael Nadal and Kasper Ruud in men's singles. In the women's singles, fourth seed Caroline Garcia also fell victim to an upset. Garcia was eliminated from the tournament after being defeated by Magda Linet in straight sets 7-6, 6-4.

Garcia, ranked number four in the women's rankings, was one of the favorites to win the title this year. However, she too could not go beyond the fourth round. She was not in great touch in her previous match as well, but was able to overcome world number 158 Laura Siegmund in three sets. However, she was defeated by Lynette in this match.

France's Garcia won 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in two hours and 10 minutes to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time since 2018. However, she could not win the title. Fourth seed Garcia said after reaching the fourth round, "She played a great match, she was able to read me very well. I was getting more and more tense and I was very nervous at the beginning."

Garcia was defeated by No. 45 Magda Linett in the fourth round. Poland's Linet has reached the next round. The chances of finding a new champion in women's singles at the Australian Open have increased after the exit of top players. 

Lynette is looking in great touch and could win the Australian Open. He has defeated 16th, 19th and 4th seed players so far. After defeating Garcia, she said that she did not do any special preparation for this tournament, but she is succeeding. He said that working less hard is improving his preparation.
