CWG 2022: Lakshya Sen gives India 20th gold, defeats Malaysian player in final
Lakshya Sen defeated Jia of Singapore 21-10, 18-21, 21-16 in the semi-finals to reach the final.
In the badminton men's singles match of the Commonwealth Games 2022, Lakshya SEN, ranked 10th in the world rankings, defeated Malaysia's Tje Yong to win the gold medal. In the final, Lakshya defeated Tje Yong 19-21, 21-9 and 21-16.
Sen's excellent comeback after losing the first set
Lakshya Sen lost his first set. Malaysia's Tje Yong defeated Lakshya Sen 21-19 in the first set. But after that Sen made a spectacular comeback and won the gold medal by defeating in two consecutive sets. Sen won the second set 21-9, while defeating Tje Yong 21-16 in the third set.
Lakshya Sen had booked the final ticket after defeating Jia of Singapore

PV Sindhu also won gold in women's singles
Before Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu gave India a gold medal in badminton women's singles. PV Sindhu defeated Canada's Michelle Lee in a one-sided match in the final. Michelle Lee was defeated by PV Sindhu 21-15 and 21-13 in just two sets.
