Carlos Pena no regrets of the decisions of his career
El Gullit had a controversial development of his career due to extra-sporting factors. Carlos Pena would not change anything about his story
Carlos Pena was an outstanding player in Mexican soccer. El Gullit played for important teams in Liga MX and also had the opportunity to go to Europe. But extra-sporting factors tainted his career. Despite this, Carlos Peña assures that he wouldn't change anything he did.
In a conversation with Yosgart Gutierrez for the Re Portero Podcast, Carlos Peña recalled what his professional career was like. The former Mexican soccer player was affected by a life full of excesses with alcohol. But Gullit doesn't regret it.
“I don't regret it, really, like I said, there's no time to do it, I am what I am because of what I've done in my life and because I've always wanted to, no one has ever forced me to do anything,” said Carlos Peña.
Gullit could have had a much more fruitful career if discipline and he had gone hand in hand. Carlos Pena had the talent to stand out in Mexican soccer and even in the Mexican national team. But the former Chivas de Guadalajara player believes he had “bad press.”
"What I've wanted, I've bought because I wanted to and could. We know that the press sometimes gets involved more with some than with others, we gave rise to that. Sometimes good things come from chaos and I have taken advantage of them, he added.
