Pujara got special cap
Gavaskar handed over a special cap to him for the 100th test. During this, he said, I hope that Pujara will score a century in the 100th Test. He can become the first Indian to achieve this feat.” Pujara became the 13th player from India to play 100 Test matches. More Tests than him Sachin Tendulkar (200), Rahul Dravid (163), VVS Laxman (134), Anil Kumble (132), Kapil Dev (131), Sunil Gavaskar (125), Dilip Vengsakar (116), Sourav Ganguly (113) , Virat Kohli (106), Ishant Sharma (105), Harbhajan Singh (103) and Virender Sehwag (103) have played.
Gavaskar praised Pujara
Pujara left behind former captain Mohammad Azharuddin by playing 100th Test. Azhar had played 99 Tests. After felicitating Pujara, Gavaskar said, "Welcome to the 100th Test club. I wish you to become the first Indian to score a century in your 100th Test and lay the foundation for another win in Delhi." The former captain lauded Pujara for putting his body on the line for India. Called him the ideal of the youth. Pujara, 35, made his Test debut in 2010. He has more than seven thousand and 19 centuries in this format.
