Mini auction will be organized for next year's Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) . The final seal is yet to be made regarding the auction venue. Currently, Istanbul remains the first choice for the IPL auction, apart from Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The final decision regarding the venue is expected to be taken in the first week of November.
Officials looking into Istanbul
According to a BCCI official, Istanbul is among the five possible venues that are in the bid to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. A BCCI official told PTI, "No final decision has been taken yet but we are looking at Istanbul. We haven't met the team and their officials in a normal environment since the start of the Covid pandemic and that's how we can do it. "However, the final decision will be taken after consultation with all the stakeholders," he said.
IPL Governing Council will take final decision in November
However, the final decision on the venue will be taken in the IPL Governing Council meeting which will be held for the first time soon under the chairmanship of new chairman Arun Singh Dhumal. Unlike last year, this year there will be a smaller auction. All the 10 franchises have been asked to submit the list of players they will retain with them by November 15. Along with this, the salary limit for the next year is also likely to be increased from Rs 90 crore to Rs 95 crore.
