New biographical film of Juan Gabriel is confirmed
The life story of the Divo de Juárez will hit the screens again, now under the direction of Gary Alazraki, creator of "The Office"
A decade after his death, the singer Juan Gabriel keeps his legacy alive through his music and a new project on the big screen promises to take his story to various parts of the world. It is a biographical film directed by Gary Alazraki, creator of “The Office.”
The news was confirmed by the filmmaker himself, who also announced that the project has the authorization of Iván Aguilera, son of the deceased “Divo de Juárez.”
The director Gary Alazraki, known for directing “Nosotros los Nobles” and “Club de Cuervos”, assured that this project seeks to offer the public a different proposal with a story designed for a global audience.
"For me there is a mythical story in the life of Juan Gabriel and, because of the way I want to tell it, I think it will be very endearing for Mexico, for Alberto's family, for fans of Juan Gabriel and for those who do not know who he is. I think that talking about him is also a way of telling the story of Mexico," he detailed in a statement.
In this sense, he stressed that the project needs international projection to reach the fans around the world that Juan Gabriel enchanted during his years of career.
"We can't just tie it in here, we're talking about a production that is not only local, but global. There are many Mexicans in the United States, many people from various countries like Juan Gabriel," he commented.
This is not the first time that the singer has become the inspiration for a biographical project. Let us remember that there are also: the bioseries “Until I met you” and the Netflix documentary “Juan Gabriel: I must, I can and I want.”
Gary Alazraki's production will become the third production about the author of “Querida” in the last decade. And if he gets financing quickly, he would begin recording at the end of this year.
