Katy Perry remembers the hard time she experienced after her separation from Orlando Bloom
The "California Gurls" performer opened up like never before about the separation she had with the actor in early 2025.
A little over a year after ending her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, singer Katy Perry decided to break the silence about this chapter in her life and the havoc it caused on an emotional level.
In an interview with The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music, the “California Gurls” singer described 2025 as “the worst year of her life” due to the emotional weight that ending her relationship with the father of her daughter Daisy Bloom placed on her shoulders.
Although Orlando Bloom declared at the time that the relationship ended on good terms and without “hard feelings involved,” it was very difficult for Katy Perry to get up after this emotional blow.
About this period in her life, the famous woman recalled: "Last year, in June, I was in the winter during the Lifetimes tour. I was crying. I was in Adelaide. I had just gotten separated. I had been through a lot, you know, things in public, in private. And I thought: 'My God, this is very intense. Is a person supposed to feel all this and absorb it all?'" she told the interviewer.
Likewise, Perry hinted that his mental health was also affected by this “goodbye.” However, he found the strength and support necessary to cope with his new reality.
“Everything has really changed and is real, down to earth and stable, and I am so happy that I decided to keep going for another year, because if you keep living, life can get better,” she highlighted.
Katy Perry and her new love story with Justin Trudeau
However, in the midst of this episode of uncertainty she met her new partner, the former Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau: “And suddenly this enormous blessing appeared in my life (…) It was as if God had not taken me so far to abandon me,” she shared.
Currently, Katy Perry is enjoying the joys of her romance with the Canadian: "I'm very in love. That show was after meeting the love of my life, and that gave me a lot of anchor," she boasted.
The music star continued: "I'm a bit like a rainbow kite. I fly very high and sometimes I need to anchor myself. Having that anchor finally makes me feel very complete," she concluded.
