Jannik Sinner changes physical trainer just before Wimbledon
Jannik Sinner comes from losing at Roland Garros and will begin his journey at Wimbledon with new coaches
The Italian Jannik Sinner, current number one in the ATP ranking, has made an important decision for his participation in Wimbledon 2025, making significant changes to his technical team just days before the start of the tournament.
As confirmed by Sky Italia, Marco Panichi (fitness trainer) and Ulises Badio (physiotherapist) are no longer part of the 22-year-old tennis player's team.
Both professionals, with extensive experience on the circuit, had previously worked for years with Novak Djokovic, the most successful Grand Slam player in the history of men's tennis and current world number six.
Their incorporation into Sinner's team took place at the end of last year, following the departure of Umberto Ferrara and Giacomo Naldi, who were involved in the doping scandal that hit the Italian after a double positive test at Indian Wells 2024, for which he received a three-month ban agreed with WADA.

This new adjustment in Sinner's environment comes after a series of frustrating results for the player born in San Candido.
He lost the finals of the Masters 1000 in Rome and Roland Garros, both to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, and subsequently fell in the second round of the Halle tournament to Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.
Although no official statement has been issued explaining the reasons for the split, the absence of Panichi and Badio from Thursday's training session on Wimbledon's center court was evident, raising concerns about a possible shakeup in the Italian's team. Shortly after, Italian media confirmed his definitive departure.
Sinner will make his debut at the All England Club this Tuesday, in the first round of the third Grand Slam of the year, where he will face his compatriot Luca Nardi.
With the pressure of defending his position at the top of the rankings and the urgency of winning his first Grand Slam title, the Italian will be looking in London not only for a victory, but also to reaffirm his new direction.
