According to club sources, Neymar felt some discomfort in training and will need to undergo treatment for at least a week. He could be back in action on the 31st when Santos faces Fluminense in the Brazilian league.

The former FC Barcelona and PSG player was not included in the squad for Sunday's match against Bahia, also in the Brazilian Championship, as he must serve a one-match suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.

The big question raised by his new injury is whether the 33-year-old player, who has suffered serious physical problems since 2023, will be on the list that Ancelotti will release this Monday for Brazil's matches against Chile and Bolivia.

The first of those matches will be played on September 4 in Rio de Janeiro, and the second, on the last day of South American qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, will be in the city. from El Alto, neighboring La Paz.

The Italian coach took over the Brazilian national team in the middle of this year, after leaving Real Madrid, and this Monday he will call up the players who will play those two matches, among which Neymar was expected, who due to recurring physical problems has not played with the national team since October 2023.
