The Mexican team will feature another major leaguer. The World Baseball Classic will be played between March 5 and 17 in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Japan. The Toronto Blue Jays catcher will be present.
“The National Teams Commission reports that Tijuana native catcher Alejandro Kirk will be part of the Mexican National Baseball Team roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic,” the report detailed regarding Kirk's participation.
This will be Alejandro Kirk's first World Baseball Classic. The catcher, who came up through the Tijuana Toros organization, will add experience and quality to the Mexican roster. Kirk has been selected twice to the MLB All-Star Game (2022 and 2025).

Kirk scored 45 runs, hit 18 doubles, 15 home runs, drove in 76 runs, and finished with a batting average of .282 (only surpassed by his .285 in 2022). 2026 World Baseball Classic: As previously mentioned, the World Baseball Classic will be played from March 5-7 in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Japan. The Mexican national team was drawn into Group B alongside the United States, Italy, Great Britain, and Brazil. Mexico will debut on March 6 against Great Britain.
