The company confirmed that, after the Albiceleste's passage to the final after beating England 2-1 last Wednesday, it decided to expand its programming with two extraordinary services between Buenos Aires and New York. Both began selling out that same night, and by Thursday, there were no more seats available.

The decisive match of the tournament will be played this Sunday at MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey, a venue that will welcome thousands of fans from both countries.

According to EFE, interest in traveling was not limited only to flights to New York. The company also reported that services to Miami were completely occupied.

Airlines expanded their operation due to high demand

To meet the increase in requests, the company had initially added two special flights operated with Airbus A330 aircraft between the Ezeiza International Airport and the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. One of them was scheduled for Friday night and the other for Saturday morning.

In addition to these services, Aerolíneas Argentinas maintains two daily flights between Buenos Aires and Miami during the days prior to the final, offering a connection alternative for those seeking to arrive in New York later.

However, the speed with which tickets sold out led the company to make a new decision. On Friday it announced the addition of a third special flight departing from Ezeiza on Saturday night.

In a statement, the airline explained that the new service will be available "for all those who want to travel to cheer on the Argentine team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final."

The company also reported that the one-way leg will have a fare starting at $2,200, plus taxes.

According to Aerolíneas Argentinas, the measure responds to the behavior of the market in recent hours. “The decision was made after the two previously announced special flights were completed in less than 12 hours, reflecting the strong demand of passengers to accompany the national team in the decisive stage of the tournament,” the company said.

The new flight seeks to offer a last alternative for fans who are still trying to reach the United States before the duel between Argentina and Spain, a match that will define the 2026 World Cup champion and that has generated a massive mobilization of Argentine fans heading to North America.
