Sebastian Cordova was at times a footballer with great potential in Mexican football. Cordova has spent his entire career in Liga MX, but his football development hasn't always been smooth sailing. As a youth player, Cordova had some clashes with Yosgart Gutierrez. During his early days with Necaxa, Sebastian Cordova shared a locker room with Yosgart Gutierrez. The former Mexican goalkeeper revealed some details about Cordova in his early days. Yosgart Gutierrez recalled that his relationship with Cordova wasn't the best because he always demanded more effort from him on the field. Gutierrez felt that the young player was afraid of physical contact and of pushing himself to the limit on the field. "I had some run-ins with him because he suddenly didn't like to run, he didn't like to tackle, he didn't like physical contact, and I told him so. Perhaps in the heat of the moment during a match or training session, those were the clashes with him, but afterwards he improved a lot," Gutierrez recalled in a conversation on Fox Sports. But Cordova's characteristics are different. The former Club America player has great skill with the ball at his feet. The player born in Aguascalientes has proven his worth in Mexican soccer. Currently, Sebastian Cordova has lost much of his prominence in Liga MX. Cordova's contract with Tigres UANL ends in the coming days. The uncertainty surrounding his future may have been a factor influencing Cordova's recent stint with the feline team. "I don't know if that's the situation affecting him; I'm speaking without being in contact with him on a daily basis," added Yosgart Gutierrez. Reports indicate that Sebastian Cordova could be headed to Toluca's Red Devils. At 28 years old, Cordova is a player who can still contribute years of valuable service to Mexican soccer. Sebastian Cordova has played over 260 matches in Liga MX. The midfielder has scored 42 goals and provided 26 assists during his time in Mexican soccer. Sebastian's market value is around $3.5 million.
