Although the Águilas del América won a comfortable victory against San Diego FC at home, Guillermo Almada did not hide his disagreement on this issue. The Uruguayan strategist does not see it as equitable that the Leagues Cup only takes place in the United States.
"The most natural thing in a championship that is played between the MLS and Mexico is that 50% of the games are played there and the other 50 are played here, it happens in all international competitions. We don't set the rules, we only have an opinion on the equity that there should be in a championship, which is logical," said the Uruguayan after the game.
Guillermo Almada's opinions add to the recent complaints of Gonzalo Piovi, central defender of Cruz Azul, and even Marc Dos Santos, coach of Los Angeles FC. Clearly there is a slight advantage for MLS clubs.
