Karim Adeyemi joins the FC Barcelona attack
The culé club would pay 22 million fixed euros plus another seven million for Adeyemi
FC Barcelona is very close to making a new addition to reinforce its offensive. The German striker Karim Adeyemi, currently at Borussia Dortmund, has a verbal agreement with the Catalan club and only the final procedures remain to make official an operation that would allow the footballer to join the preseason led by Hansi Flick as soon as possible.
The conversations between the parties are progressing positively, although the EFE agency specified that the corresponding documentation still needs to be completed before closing the signing.
The negotiation contemplates a payment of 22 million fixed euros plus another seven million in variables. These incentives will be linked to obtaining titles and the agreement will also include a clause that will grant Borussia Dortmund 20% of a future capital gain in the event of a subsequent sale of the attacker.
Barcelona's intention is to conclude the process as soon as possible so that Adeyemi can join the group when the squad resumes training at the Joan Gamper Sports City, where the usual medical and physical tests for the new season will begin this Monday.
A reinforcement with international experience for the Flick project
Adeyemi would arrive at the Catalan team after playing four seasons with Borussia Dortmund. Since his arrival at the German club in 2022, he has accumulated 146 official matches, in which he scored 36 goals and distributed 25 assists.
During the most recent season he lost prominence in the team once Dortmund confirmed that the winger had no intention of renewing the contract that links him to the institution until June 30, 2027.
Before arriving in the Bundesliga, the attacker had stood out with Salzburg, where he recorded 33 goals and 24 assists in 94 games, a performance that motivated his transfer to Dortmund for 30 million euros.
The footballer also has experience in the German senior team. He has played 11 international matches and scored a goal with the “Mannschaft” shirt. His debut came precisely under the direction of Hansi Flick, current Barcelona coach, although he was subsequently not called up by Julian Nagelsmann to play in the World Cup held this summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The possible arrival of Adeyemi would expand the offensive alternatives of a Barcelona that until now had only brought in Anthony Gordon, from Newcastle. At the same time, the team faces the departure of Robert Lewandowski, who concluded his relationship with the club and will continue his career with the Chicago Fire of the MLS.
Despite the progress in negotiations for the German attacker, the Barça team's main objective to reinforce its forward line continues to be the Argentine Julián Álvarez, currently at Atlético de Madrid. However, this operation remains a complex negotiation and, according to the club's forecasts, it will hardly make progress as long as the forward remains concentrated with the Argentine team, which will play in the World Cup quarterfinals against Switzerland.
