Lakers achieve a rout against Utah Jazz in the stellar return of LeBron James
LeBron James passed Reggie Miller on the three-pointers list and Luka Doncic finished leading in points with 37
The Los Angeles Lakers routed the Utah Jazz 140-126 with the return of LeBron James, who recorded a double-double on Tuesday.
James, who debuted to become the first player to have 23 seasons, finished with 11 points, 12 assists and 3 rebounds in 30 minutes of game.
“The King” also managed to pass Reggie Miller on the list of most three-pointers made of all time in sixth place. James made his 2,561st three-pointer, passing Miller with 2,560. Luka Doncic was the star of the show with 37 points, 10 assists, and 5 rebounds in 34 minutes of play. Austin Reaves also contributed with 26 points and 5 rebounds, while DeAndre Ayton recorded a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. For the Jazz (5-9), Keyonte George finished with 34 points and Lauri Markkanen with 31. Both had over 20 points at halftime, but their performance dipped, mirroring their team's struggles, in the second half. LeBron James says he still needs to find his rhythm with the Lakers. LeBron admitted he was lacking rhythm, but for his first game in seven months, he felt... "The pace tested me, but I'm happy with how I was able to play with the team," James said. "As the game went on, my stamina improved a lot. I was catching my breath, catching my breath. Obviously, I'm still getting back into the swing of things. It was my first game in almost seven months, so everything that happened tonight was to be expected." James also responded to a question about whether his presence would in any way affect the game of Luka Doncic, who has emerged as a leader at the start of the season with a 10-4 record before his arrival. "I can fit in with anyone," James said. "I don't even understand why they questioned it. What's wrong with them? I can fit in with anyone right away. Watching the guys in the first 14 games, I was mentally preparing myself to see how I could help the team and how I could be successful in helping them. I still draw a lot of attention when I'm driving with the ball or have it in my hands."
