They murder a police officer in Baja California and leave a narco message next to his body
The victim had 14 years of experience within the State Investigation Agency and worked in the Vehicle Theft area.
An agent of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) of the State Attorney General's Office was shot dead in the municipality of Tecate, an event that caused the mobilization of security corporations from the three levels of government.
The victim was identified as Cristian Alfredo Sandoval Aguilar, 39 years old, who had 14 years of experience within the institution and was assigned to the Vehicle Theft area of the AEI.
Paramedics went to the scene after receiving a report of a person injured by a firearm; However, upon arrival they confirmed that the agent no longer had vital signs.
At the scene, spent long gun casings and a cardboard with a message allegedly related to criminal groups were located, an element that was integrated into the investigations.
After the homicide, the State Investigation Agency activated an extensive search operation in coordination with elements of the State Citizen Security Force, National Guard, Secretariat of National Defense, Attorney General's Office of the Republic and Municipal Police of Tecate.
As part of the actions, inspection filters were installed at entrances and exits of the city, in addition to tours in different parts of the municipality.
Expert Services personnel and investigative agents processed the scene to collect evidence that would clarify the crime and find those responsible. So far no arrests have been reported.
The State Attorney General's Office mourned the loss of the agent, highlighting his career, leadership and institutional commitment during more than a decade of service in investigation and combating property crimes.
